STEP 1
A FREE 15 to 30 minute call to discuss the project. When booking, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire to share important project details ahead of the call.
STEP 2
At this very important first meeting, we learn about your lifestyle, vision, and goals, and we share the value we bring to the project. We will also outline scope, timeline, investment & feasibility.
STEP 3
Also during the Initial Consultation we will present our Letter of Agreement step-by-step and collect the design fee retainer to begin the project.
STEP 4
Documenting existing furnishings and taking thorough site measurements is vital. We will finalize your wish-list and determine new and existing furnishings to be included.
STEP 5
During this phase we determine all the elements of the design including finishes, colors, furnishings, lighting, and interior architectural features. We prepare detailed plans, elevations, and drawings to convey the design intent.
STEP 6
During Design Development we also prepare budget documents with estimated costs which we present at this meeting along with a detailed design presentation. With approval, full payment for all products and materials is collected to enable project commencement.
STEP 7
MKD will meet with all required trades to confirm the work required and give them the opportunity to collect information needed such as measurements and photographs to provide detailed quotes.
STEP 8
MKD will prepare specifications, schedules, working drawings, and purchase orders and submit them to service providers to initiate orders of products and services. MKD will coordinate with contractors and service people and track purchases. All non-architectural furnishings will be collected and stored in advance of step 9.
STEP 9
A tremendous amount of coordination and planning goes into this step! MKD will schedule and coordinate delivery of furnishings from storage. We ask clients to vacate the space during this step to ensure the most impactful “reveal” moment at the end of the day.
STEP 10
A post-install walk-through is scheduled to ensure full completion and satisfaction. MKD will coordinate with trades to complete outstanding work identified during this step.
STEP 11
MKD will provide the client with a binder of information from the project such as cleaning instructions, warranties, and fabric swatches. To close the books we will provide final invoices, or return un-used funds from the retainer.
STEP 12
Within a month after the installation, MKD will coordinate with the client to schedule professional photography.
